POOLS OF FATE | Author: Farseer Tyross | Type: Story |
| Faelthrain glanced over the smooth surface of the crystal pool, it's surface had not been disturbed in centuries, the reflected light shown brightly. The inner sanctum of the Eldar subterranean monolith was encrusted with polished crystal, every wall gleamed with inner life and refracted light. The mere sight of the crystal walls which resembled marble to some extent filled Faelthrain with renewed hope. A smile played about his face as he realised that there are still places where the enemies of the Eldar had not dared enter or could indeed found. | Behind him, five Warlock stood in attention, their weapons ready "heed not hostile thoughts in this temple, young Seers, this place remains untouched" flashed through the minds of the Warlocks. He could see the Warlocks lower their weapons, although they did not holster them entirely. Probably wise thought Faelthrain as he advanced on. He entered through the passage way that was visible across the raised crystal pool, the light receded as they travelled down the corridor, an eternity to some of the younger Warlocks. | As they emerged from the corridor into a large room, the far was dominated by a large runic symbol unlike any other. It shown pale green in the ambient light of the chamber. The rune itself resembled both those depicting Isha and that of Khaine. Stepping forward once more, Faelthrain's attention was caught by one of the Warlocks, as he made a long sweeping hand gesture of respect. 'Of what reason have we come to such a place, I wish to learn more,' spoke the Warlock, his tone was embellished with a lack of understanding. | "We have come to this World in search of an ancient Eldar weapon, an artefact of infinite Eldar antiquity, it's mere presence was thought lost to all but the most powerful Eldar Seers, yet the Craftworld's close proximity enlightened us more to it's location. Such an artefact is of great need in these times of coming conflict," the Farseer's words rang out throughout the chamber, the many echoes caused by the polished crystalline substance was astounding. "Now we must hurry, this place was sanctified by the Eldar of ancient, there are many a psyker out in the void which may heed the call of the homing runes which were activated upon our entry..." |
